Julia Taylor-Settles, MS
Senior Director, Regional Growth and Business Strategy, Southeast Region
Julia is Milhouse’s Senior Director of Regional Growth & Business Strategy for the Southeast Region. In this role, she is accountable for leading regional business development and managing client relationships, while steering strategic business initiatives and ensuring alignment with Milhouse’s mission and values. Previously, she has worked in engineering and project management, supporting fiber-optic networks, SCADA management and deployments, and other power delivery projects. She also specializes in supplier inclusion within the utility sector, bringing fresh and underrepresented voices to the table to strengthen communities and project outcomes.
Julia effectively manages her team to keep projects running within scope, time and budget constraints. She has a proven track record in utility project and program management, including oversight of more than $70 million in project work. She is an advocate for energy efficiency solutions, working with power companies and applicants to craft effective programs. In 2018, she was selected for a fellowship in the Urban League’s Inclusion by Design Executive Leadership Program, which builds a pipeline of leaders oriented toward community needs, diversity and inclusion and most recently she was awarded the Joe Biden Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions within the utility industry.
Julia is an active participant in numerous professional organizations, including the Project Management Institute, the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) and the Women’s International Network of Utility Professionals (WINUP). She is active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She has served in leadership roles in and advocated for employee resource groups at each organization where she has worked because she believes they elevate corporate culture to perform at its best.
